Dream Greener Program Schedules

Vegetation Control Services Program Schedule Expand

At Dream Greener, our trained and licensed experts are dedicated to providing top-notch vegetation control services to ensure your outdoor spaces remain vibrant and weed-free. Our comprehensive program is designed to keep your landscape looking its best from April to October.

February/March: Kickstart the season with a liquid pre-emergent treatment to prevent weed growth.

Monthly Follow-Up: Enjoy regular follow-up treatments, either liquid and/or manual, to maintain the health and beauty of your landscape.

Minimum Applications: Our service includes a four-application minimum to guarantee effective results.

Pricing: Starting at $90 per visit, our services are tailored to meet your needs and budget.

Flea, Tick, Mosquito Pest Management Program Expand

Our pest management program is designed to reduce flea, tick, and pest populations in your lawn and around the foundation of your home. Our products may be in a liquid or granular form and will have a residual control for up to four weeks. This is applied monthly from spring thru fall.

This program offers protection against lawn damaging surface insects including chinch bugs, sod web worms and army worms.

While we can greatly reduce flea and tick populations, we can not guarantee to eliminate them completely.

Integrated Mosquito Management Program (IMM)

IMM uses methods to control mosquitoes based on an understanding of mosquito biology, the mosquito life cycle, and the way mosquitoes spread viruses. The methods, when followed correctly, are scientifically proven to reduce mosquito populations. Our team is licensed and knowledgeable in the best practices of mosquito management and can offer tips on source reduction for your specific property.

Many diseases are spread by mosquitoes including Zika, Eastern equine encephalitis, and heartworm in pets. However, mosquitoes can also transmit the worm to humans albeit rarely.

Our IMM program consists of monthly visits from May thru October. Later visits may be available upon request.

Lawn Health Treatment Schedule Expand

Round 1 (Early Spring): Provides a custom-blended, comprehensive slow-release fertilizer and pre-emergent crabgrass control to help the lawn begin to replenish nutrients lost during winter and to recover from the stress of winter conditions.

Round 2 (Spring): Provides granular slow-release fertilizer and pre- and post-emergent weed control for summer annual grassy weeds. Apply broadleaf and spring weed control as needed.

Round 3 (Early Summer): Provides a balanced fertilizer with early summer nutrients and a treatment for surface and sub-surface insect control. Apply liquid broadleaf weed control as needed.

Round 4 (Summer): Provides a blended fertilizer, with multiple organic nutrients and iron, to help the lawn through the stress conditions of late summer. As needed, apply detailed liquid weed control for any hard-to-control weeds.

Round 5 (Fall): Provides a blended, slow-release fertilizer with nutrients to help the lawn recover from summer stress, to supply cool-season nutrients, and to help improve fall color. Apply liquid broadleaf and grassy weed control as needed.

Round 6 (Late Fall): Provides a winterized, blended, slow-release fertilizer to encourage winter root development, reduce winter disease activity, and to help promote early spring green-up.

Beneficial Services: Aeration, Lime, Overseeding, Turf Repair and Renovation, Organic Composting.

Plant Health Care Program Schedule Expand

Round 1 (Dormant Oil): Dormant oil is an effective and ecologically friendly way to manage overwintering insect and pests before populations rise above a damaging threshold in the spring.

Round 2 (Feeding for ornamentals): Trees and shrubs that grow in forests get their nutrients from the soil in their natural environment . Urban and suburban soils are more nutrient deficient than native soils. Our fertilizer is a fast-acting nutrient source that may be liquid or granular. These nutrients are applied near the root system of your plants and become available for the trees and shrubs roots to take up, store, and use.

Round 3 (Insect & disease management): Our arborist will evaluate your landscape and provide controls where insect or disease activity is present or probable. This will reduce foliar injury due to feeding insects, which will increase healthy leaf surfaces. Leaf surface area has a direct link with all photosynthetic light harvested which affects the overall plant growth.

Round 4 (Insect & disease management): Insects typically reproduce faster during the hot summer months. The higher the temperatures rise the metabolism of the insect also rises which creates a need for excessive feeding to survive. Our summer visit will target pests and disease that cause foliar damage including Japanese beetles.

Round 5: This late summer/early fall visit will identify areas of your landscape that may have activity from migrating insects and any resurgence in population due to hot temperatures.

Round 6 (Fall feeding for ornamentals): Our fall feeding will provide your ornamentals with valuable nutrients to be taken in and stored for used during the winter months. Plants that are fertilized in the fall have an earlier green up and tend to have less damage through the winter months.

Round 7 (Fall oil): Our fall feeding will provide your ornamentals with valuable nutrients to be taken in and stored for used during the winter months. Plants that are fertilized in the fall have an earlier green up and tend to have less damage through the winter months.

Round 8 (Anti-desiccant): Desiccation is when water is lost through the plant leaves faster than it can be absorbed though the roots. Anti-desiccant will add a protective waxy coating to the leaves of broadleaf evergreens to slow the process of transpiration.

Specialty Treatments: Specialty visits that are not included in the round visits are borer injections and spotted lantern fly sprays.

Disclaimer: While our tree and shrub health program will offer your landscape a premium level of care from feedings and oil to insect and disease management, there are many issues that can arise that we can not control. Decline in landscape plants can be caused by planting issues, locations, girdling, and many other factors. When this occurs, we can offer guidance on extending the life of the plants or on a replacement better suited to the location.

Maintenance Service Schedule Expand

Dream Greener Watering & Care Guides

Watering and Care Guide for Healthy Trees & Shrubs Expand

Initial Watering: Immediately after planting, water the shrubs thoroughly to settle the soil around the roots. This helps eliminate air pockets and ensures good root-to-soil contact.

Frequency:
• For the first two weeks, water the shrubs daily.
• After this initial period, reduce the frequency to 2-3 times per week for the next month.
• Once the shrubs are established (usually after the first month), water them once a week.

Amount: Each watering session should provide enough water to moisten the soil to a depth of 6-8 inches. This depth ensures that the water reaches the rootzone effectively.

Time of Day: Water the shrubs early in the morning or late in the evening tominimize evaporation and ensure the water reaches the roots effectively. Always water the base of the plant, not the canopy, to prevent fungal diseases.

Soil Moisture Check: Regularly check the soil moisture by inserting your fingeror a soil moisture meter into the soil. The soil should be moist but not waterlogged.Adjust your watering schedule based on the soil moisture levels and weather conditions.

Rainfall: Take natural rainfall into account. If there has been significant rainfall, you may need to adjust your watering schedule accordingly.

Signs of Overwatering/Underwatering: Watch for signs of overwatering (yellowing leaves, root rot) and underwatering (wilting, dry soil). Adjust your watering practices if you notice these signs. By following these science-based guidelines, you can help ensure the healthy establishment and growth of your shrubs.

Watering and Care Guide for Healthy Flowers Expand

Here are some general guidelines for caring for annual flowers:

Watering: Provide adequate water to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. The frequency of watering will depend on the specific needs of the flowers and the weather conditions. Water deeply and avoid shallow watering, as it promotes shallow root growth.

Deadheading: Remove spent flowers by pinching or cutting them off. Deadheading encourages the plants to produce more blooms and prevents energy from being wasted on seed production. It also helps maintain the overall appearance of the flower bed.

Pruning: Some annual flowers benefit from occasional pruning to maintain their shape and promote branching. Trim back leggy or overgrown stems to encourage bushier growth and more compact plants. Prune damaged or diseased foliage promptly to prevent the spread of pests or diseases.

Pest and Disease Control: Monitor your annual flowers regularly for signs of pests or diseases. If you notice any issues, identify the problem and take appropriate measures. This may include handpicking pests, using organic pest control methods, or applying targeted insecticides or fungicides when necessary. Deep watering promotes downward root growth, enhancing the overall strength and vigor of your lawn.

Provide Support: Some annual flowers, such as tall varieties of sunflowers or climbing vines, may require support to prevent them from toppling over. Install stakes, trellises, or cages as needed to provide support and maintain the plants' upright growth.

Regular Maintenance: Keep the flower bed tidy by removing weeds and debris regularly. This helps prevent competition for nutrients and reduces the risk of pests and diseases.

Fertilization: Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks to provide essential nutrients for healthy growth and vibrant blooms. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates and methods.

Seasonal Transition: The best time to remove and replace summer annuals with fall/winter annual flowers is typically in late summer to early fall. This timing allows the new plants to establish before the cooler weather sets in, ensuring a
seamless transition and continuous color in your garden.

By following these science-based care tips, you will provide optimal conditions for your annual flowers to thrive and bring vibrant color to your garden. Enjoy your beautiful and flourishing flower bed!

Watering and Care Guide for New Lawns Expand

To ensure the health and longevity of your lawn, it's important to follow these science-based watering instructions:

Initial Watering: Immediately after installation (whether seeding or laying sod), water your lawn thoroughly. The goal is to moisten the soil to a depth of 6-8 inches. This will provide ample hydration to the newly laid sod or seeds and promote root establishment.

First Two Weeks: Water your lawn every day before 9:00 a.m. Split the watering into two sessions: 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the late afternoon. This frequent watering schedule helps to keep the soil consistently moist, allowing the sod to settle and root effectively, and the seeds to germinate and establish roots.

After Two Weeks: Reduce the frequency of watering to once a day. Choose either the morning or evening watering session, maintaining a duration of 30 minutes. This adjusted schedule supports the development of deeper root systems and encourages the grass to become more resilient against drought conditions.

Deep and Infrequent Watering: Remember to water deeply and infrequently. This means providing enough water to penetrate the soil to a significant depth, rather than shallow watering that only wets the surface. Deep watering promotes downward root growth, enhancing the overall strength and vigor of your lawn.

Optimal Watering Times: Avoid watering during the hottest part of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. High temperatures and intense sunlight can cause rapid evaporation, preventing the water from reaching the roots effectively. Watering in the early morning or late afternoon helps to minimize water loss and maximize absorption.

Adjust for Weather Conditions: Stay mindful of weather conditions and adjust your watering schedule accordingly. During hot and dry periods, your lawn may require more frequent watering to compensate for increased water evaporation.Conversely, during cooler and rainy periods, you can reduce watering to avoid over-saturation.

Recommended Lawn Care Plan:

  • Fertilization and Weed Control: Begin after the first two mowings.
  • Fertilization: Use a balanced lawn fertilizer to provide essential nutrients for healthy growth.
  • Weed Control: Apply a selective herbicide to target and eliminate weeds without harming the grass.
Seasonal Pruning and Care Guide for Annual & Perennial Flowers Expand

Seasonal Pruning:
Spring: Trim back any dead or damaged growth from the winter months. Cut back any overgrown areas to promote new growth.
Summer: Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Trim back leggy growth to maintain a compact shape.
Fall: Cut back any frost-damaged foliage and prepare the plants for winter dormancy.
Winter: Minimal pruning is needed during this time, focus on removing any dead or diseased branches.

Frequency:
Perennial Flowers: Prune dead or damaged growth as needed throughout the growing season. Perform a more thorough pruning in early spring and late fall.
Annual Flowers: Deadhead spent flowers regularly to promote continuous blooming. Trim back leggy growth as needed.
Ground Covers: Trim back overgrown areas as needed to maintain a tidy appearance.

Amount:
Perennial Flowers: Remove no more than one-third of the plant's growth during each pruning session to avoid stressing the plant.
Annual Flowers: Deadhead spent flowers regularly to promote new growth.
Ground Covers: Trim back overgrown areas to prevent them from smothering other plants.

Time of Year:
Perennial Flowers: Perform major pruning in early spring and late fall. Minor pruning can be done as needed throughout the growing season.
Annual Flowers: Regular deadheading and trimming can be done throughout the growing season. Ground Covers: Trim back overgrown areas as needed to maintain a neat appearance.

Soil Moisture Check: Regularly check the soil moisture around the plants to ensure they are receiving adequate water. Adjust watering practices based on soil moisture levels and weather conditions.

Signs of Overwatering/Underwatering: Watch for signs of overwatering wilting, yellowing leaves) and underwatering (dry, crispy leaves). Adjust watering practices accordingly.

By following these science-backed guidelines, you can ensure the proper care and maintenance of your perennial flowers, annual flowers, and ground covers throughout the seasons.
