Fleet & Yard Support Assistant (Seasonal Position)
Join the team at Dream Greener Lawn & Landscape LLC as a Fleet & Yard Support Assistant, supporting our operations in driving, loading, fueling, plant nursery tasks, and light truck and equipment maintenance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly, including the potential for winter snow removal.
This is a seasonal position with reduced hours or winter layoff during December, January, and February. Winter work may include snow removal and shop tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Safely drive trucks, trailers, and equipment to and from job sites as assigned.
- Load and unload equipment and materials efficiently, prioritizing safety.
- Fuel trucks and equipment daily to ensure readiness for morning dispatch.
- Secure all trucks, trailers, and equipment at the end of the day (locks, chains, etc.).
- Park and organize trucks/trailers in designated areas in the upper lot.
- Assist the mechanic with routine maintenance, inspections, and light repairs.
- Support plant and hardscape material organization tasks.
- Identify and promptly report vehicle or equipment issues to management.
- Inspect exterior drains and promptly remove debris build-up.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard and fleet area (including using blowers for asphalt areas).
- Assist in shop maintenance (e.g., blowing/mopping floors, stocking detail stations).
- Operate as a commercial snow plow driver during the winter.
- Take on other assignments as needed.
Required Education and Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to obtain a Medical Card.
Required Work Experience and Skills
- Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
- Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work Monday–Saturday and be on-call 24/7 during winter.
Preferred Education and Licenses
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience/education.
- Current CDL license (or willing to obtain—training and licensing provided by the company).
Preferred Work Experience and Skills
- Prior experience operating trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment.
- Experience in yard or fleet operations, including equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Familiarity with plant nursery operations or landscaping materials.
- Experience with winter maintenance services, including commercial snow removal.
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling trucks, trailers, and materials.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
- Basic experience with mechanical inspections and repairs.
- Ability to meet schedules and coordinate logistics for equipment and materials.
- Experience working in outdoor conditions and performing physical labor tasks.
Pay and Benefits
- Starting Pay: $20.00/hour.
- PTO: 40 hours (after three months of full-time employment).

Location and Travel
This position operates in a field environment, involving local travel during the business day. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required for conferences or training.
