Job Summary
As a Seasonal Snow Crew Member, you are responsible for using, plows, trailers, shovels, and other equipment to perform work during snow and ice events, loading and unloading material and performing tasks as outlined below.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Ability to work independently or with a group
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to operate small engine machines
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Hand shoveling, salting, plowing, or using other types of snow management equipment and materials
- 100% attendance is CRUCIAL
Required Education & Licenses
- Valid driver’s license and insurable on a policy
Required Work Experience and Skills
- The ability to work in different environmental conditions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Organized, detailed-oriented and ability to multi-task.
- Proficient with smart devices
- Self-motivated, well organized, and professional
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Friday and Saturday work, overnight work, etc. if necessary, or longer shifts
Pay and Benefits
The starting hourly pay range for snow event work is $18.00 to $22.00, provided you have a valid driver’s license and relevant experience.
Hours
This is an on-call position requiring full availability 24/7 to respond to snow and ice events as needed. Work hours and days will vary based on weather conditions and may include shifts of up to 12 hours, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. This is a seasonal role with hours scheduled at any time, Monday through Sunday, based on business needs. Your availability must align with these requirements. Please note that the number of hours each week is not guaranteed and will depend on the demands of the business.
Location and Travel
Service routes are local and dispatched from our Bethel Park location.
Working Conditions
The ability to remember information such as words, numbers, pictures, and procedures; to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences; to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand; and to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted. Physical activities like bending, stretching, kneeling, digging, etc., as well as heavy lifting, may be necessary due to the outdoor work environment, which may also involve working in various weather conditions such as rain, cold, wind, ice, and snow, etc. This position must be able to be performed without any physical accommodations.
