Mechanic

Fleet Inspections and Readiness

  • Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure all trucks, trailers, and equipment are in proper working condition, ready for operations, and compliant with safety standards.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish and adhere to a maintenance schedule for trucks and equipment.

Equipment Repairs

  • Perform proactive and timely repairs on all trucks, trailers, and job-related equipment.

Inspection Compliance

  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet safety and operational standards in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT requirements.

Emergency Repairs

  • Provide on-call support for emergency repairs, assisting teams on-site with troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues promptly.

Equiptment Training

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to train landscaping crews on proper equipment operation, care, and basic troubleshooting to prevent misuse and extend equipment lifespan.

Vendor Coordination

  • Work with vendors to source parts, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of supplies to reduce repair delays.

Cost Efficiency

  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures, such as repairing components instead of replacing them and recommending energy-efficient or low-maintenance equipment upgrades.

Purchase Order System

  • Utilize the company’s purchase order system for all purchases and obtain sign-off from the Operations Manager before making any purchases.

Maintenance Records

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of fleet maintenance and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.

Yard Operations and Waste Management

  • Assist with loading/unloading materials, manage green waste disposal, and transport hardscape spoils offsite as needed to support overall yard operations.

Transportation Assistance

  • Support the transportation of assets, equipment, and materials to job sites when required.
